[W126 Coupe] Brakes

That's odd, I thought you were looking to upgrade your 500 without spending
a "nice wad of cash".

Although it's great to see another young guy interested in this car (and in
my area nonetheless) I'd recommend you get the money together and your car
and license back before reaching for the stars.

You do realize, the CL 65 engine wouldn't just swap in...you'd either have
to build your own fuel, ignition, and timing computer to run it, or you'd
have to swap in EVERY part of the driveline from the fans to the rear axles
so the sensors will be synced properly.  Furthermore, I doubt the w126
chassis could handle the added weight AND the 1000 or so NM of torque.

It might be easier AND cheaper to buy the CL65, and then make a composite
mold of the SEC body and put it on top.

Personally, I'm waiting for Mercedes to make a custom SEC for me in carbon
fibre using the SLR components, to go with the SLR I hope I can afford some
day. (well, I could get a couple if I mortgaged the house...that wouldn't
work too well though...)

Might as well start shopping for that island I want to buy someday...
