[W126 Coupe] Relays

Hein;

Is it the power window relay that heats up? Is it the little aluminum box
001 542 02 19 marked "SR9850"  in socket "F" in your fuse box?

They are very common. You should have one on either side of it in your fuse
box. Find a wreck, any 380, 500 SE, SEL etc. Any of them should have 4 or
5 of them in the fuse box. Replace the heating one and try it out. I'm not
convinced that this is your problem, but hopefully it is that simple.

I have a couple sitting here on my desk.

And your power windows are not defective. The Europeans train their
children NOT TO PLAY WITH THE DAMN POWER WINDOWS when they are left alone in
the car.

The windows DO work without the ignition key.
