I happen to live on a levee in the state of Ohio. It is old and no
longer meets modern standards.
It is not safe.
But good luck telling the residents in the area that.

The state has been working on plans for a few years to fix the problem.
The people in my area want everything fixed as long as the work doesn't
disturb them. It will.

So we have a long running feud over this levee and work will not start
until funds are available. Even when it does start someone will file suit.

It will take years to do the work. The whole project will happen over
the span of three different presidents. And someone who lives somewhere
else will call it pork barrel spending.

There are thousands of infrastructure projects across the nation that
need to be done. Most of us do not want to spend the money on these
projects.

If something fails we can always blame the current president and congress.

What does this have to do with my 560? When the levee breaks the Benz
will be headed downstream.
