[W126 Coupe] [Fwd: Fwd: This about summs it up.]

I see; you're happy to throw all the blame on Louisiana, but don't want
to discuss the President's failures whatsoever.

Meanwhile, your conclusory assertions only prove the opposite of your
argument. What's the plan for when the locals' plan fails?

I hope this unmitigated fiasco will force a public discussion--not a
debate, but a discussion--as to what the various roles of the various
agencies of fed, state and local governments can/should be. I don't
expect it, but I can still hope for it. It does appear that the
Emperor's nakedness is beginning to get some press, finally. I'm
supposing that standing in raw sewage and dodging bullets for a week
while the President is high and dry on the tarmac, lamenting the loss
of one of Trent Lott's homes and praising FEMA's response with a
"You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie!", has finally shown some of
these "journalists" that the Pres may be out of touch with reality--raw
sewage is really a reality check, especially when dead bodies are
floating in it.

See, for example, Dan Froomkin's take on the state of reporting:

LI2005041100879.html>

Anyway, if folks are willing to discuss facts, we may have a chance to
learn from the many failures.
