You'll have to check in the boot, in the spare wheel well. The MB reserve
canister was an accessory and designed to fit inside the black circular tub
that locks in the spare wheel.
Since this design only came into effect on the facelift models (09/85
onwards) I doubt your car would have it. Early w126 models had the spare
wheel facing upwards and held in by a long retaining bolt. Late ones have
the spare wheel facing downwards and the black tub sitting inside this tub
and held in by a retaining bolt.
Plenty of these on German ebay.
