[W126 Coupe] OFF TOPIC - 126 CHASSIS DIESELS 300SD VS 350SD

The 240D sounds like it would be good in theory, but my dad, who had
owned no automatics except for a 67 (or 68, I forget) Firebird 400, said
that when he bought a 240D 4-speed, it was so unbearable that he took it
back 6 days later and ordered an automatic. He said it was just so weak
that in stick shift form you were constantly changing gears and to get
it started from a stop you really had to push it.

The 240D is slow, particularly when teamed up with the automatic. The 4
spd
manual was offered too.
