I already have another ground spliced into the ground on my lighter. Can
I still splice into again, or can only so many wires go on one ground?  Yes
so long as you make a solid electrical contact.  Joining two wires I prefer
Western Union splice more than two you are probably better off with a
pig-tail splice or you could rig up a terminal strip and then insulate wrap
if you have many connections to one source of power.
Do I still use rosin-core solder?  Yes.

Same as the first question but with power wires instead of grounds. As
long as I'm not blowing fuses is there any issue with splicing power
wires?  Yes.

I think the docking station approach is the cleanest method and am glad to
hear that the equipment mfg's have adopted a similar form factor to PDA's
for use with iPods.
