Last Winter someone up Easth ad for sale an '85 500 SEL with a great body and interior and was fitted with a 5.0 H.O. Mustang motor/trans with performance parts on board for $1700. That is the way to do this Richard. You buy it for less because somebody devalued the car by converting yet you get all the benefits. Also at that price you will get most of your money back when sellling it----when you can find a buyer. You would spend 3 times that much to pervert/convert yours. Just keep your eyes open and be patient and one just like it will present itself. Do by all means not ask a months worth of questions to the man and lose it. When you see something like this and it seems to run good just buy it, A quick gut check with cash in you pocket make an offer. What is the worst outcome would be the only question to self. Do ask if He has a clear title before making an offer. Just my thoughts and experience. Jim Alexander

The funny thing is, after driving my dad's new SRT8, I wonder if this is
something I even want to bother with. And then there is the Challenger
coming out in 2008. It seems like cars are coming back around, the only
problem is the black boxes and the OBDII. It would be hard to get the
380SE 5.0euro to do a 13sec 1/4. I wonder...how hard would it be to just
put a big block V8 in here? Ignition components and carbs wouldn't be
too expensive, neither would the exhaust manifold and all that stuff
since everything is so simple. Hmmm...has anybody on the list ever given
thought to this?
