Does anybody else ever get the feeling that these engine swaps are almost pointless? I mean, things have advanced so much, and the horsepower wars are back. Now that the weather is getting cooler guys are getting in the mid to high 12's on the ¼ mile in that Chrysler 300C SRT8, and after driving my dad's I don't think I could be satisfied with any engine swap in my 380 unless it gets me that kind of speed (which would probably take 12lbs of boost on a euro 500 engine running straight pipes). I guess that's what I'll do with my 380 eventually, 12lbs, but the way things are going, I wonder if in 4 years we'll see $40,000 cars that run in the 11's.

Maybe there is no viable solution with the M104 engine.

When I dropped my car off at Motorwerks back in May, Satish was putting an M119 in a CE. That would make it a fairly potent weapon.

Eddie is absolutely right. They are generally underpowered. They are weak off the line, although the '93-'94 are better with the torquier 3.2 liter LH (air mass metering w/hot wire), but they do wind up pretty sweetly. Unfortunately, there seems to be no viable solutions for increasing the power of the M104.
