Re: [W126 Coupe] Photo BlockerI designed my system about 6 years ago, we no longer have photo radar in Ontario. Ahh ain't technology great. But I bet it still will work if you fire the flash into any lens at several thousand joules it will still burn out the image, maybe. Or fire it at your licence plate??
Luckily I don't have that problem anymore.

A lot of the cameras no longer use a flash, and use digital controls to level the light. Some cams (particularly red light cameras) have multiple cameras in different locations.

When they brought in, temporarily, photo radar in Ontario, I designed a system that beats it 100%.
I installed 3 small Zenon flash strobes where the licence plate screws go, and a slave to fire them in the fourth spot. When the flash from the camera fired, it hit the slave and fired my 3 strobes back into the camera. It burns the picture out completely as it highly over exposes the film. I used high speed capacitors so recovery was in a millisecond, as the photo radar usually takes 2 pictures. I got some photos from people who had been nailed and worked out the correct angle to mount the strobes. To test, take your camera and take a flash picture into a mirror.
Have fun,
Iain

Photoblocker doesn't really work.sometimes. Yes it does successfully white-out the photo, but there are ways to bring back the information, so they might still get you. The plate covers are more reliable but then again they are illegal in many states. A good place to buy this sort of stuff at is www.radarbusters.com and a good place to discuss the products with some people who know is http://www.radardetector.net/ though it doesn't seem to be working right now.

Hi Ronny,
I've not had experience with these products either, though the website has a lot of info., testimonials, etc.
Here is the site http://www.phantomplate.com/photoblocker.html for more info.
Hope that helps.
Cheers, Malcolm Lee
