[W126 Coupe] Brake Failure??

Today I was flushing my brake fluid in my '87 190E.. sucked the fluid out of the reservoir, and then starting with the caliper closest to the master cylinder, opened the caliper valve and pressed the brake pedal several times to squirt the fluid out, and worked my way to the caliper farthest away. after this was completed I filled the reservoir with new fluid. Leaving the farthest caliper valve open, I pressed the pedal until fluid made it's way out that valve, did the same with rear-driver side too. I proceeded to manually bleed the brakes and noticed there was hardly any pressure to the pedal, no matter what I tried. I noticed one of the 3 brake lines that screws into the master cylinder was leaking some fluid. I wiped that fluid down and tried to re-bleed to see if more would leak, none did. Still hardly any pressure behind the pedal too. My brother mentioned I may have made the master cylinder dry of fluid and the MC needs to be 'bench bled'.. now after reading through some forum archives I have a feeling I destroyed some kind of seal or diaphragm inside the MC. Someone please help!
thanks
James
