I know you can get a block heater for these, diesel or gas.
That would be a perfect place for the electrical plug connection.

The 300SD/L's can be plugged into an electrical outlet during the cold
months of the year to keep the diesel from congealing or something like
that. The electric cord can stick out of this hole. My father has
plugged in his W126 diesels in to an electrical outlet before. This
might be a carryover or crossover part on the W126 lines.
Does anyone know if the non-diesel W126's have any type of heating
system that requires it to be plugged into an electrical outlet?
Possibly the optional BBW 46 Car Preheater? It looks like that one just
consumes fuel, but is the battery the only source of power for that?
