If you want near the water, Longboat Key is the place to be. Our unofficial 
Gulf Coast Coupes clubhouse, the MarVista restaurant, lets us park on the grass 
near their outdoor seating area. It's right on Sarasota Bay and is a pretty 
good place for photos. Also, I'm sure Mike D. probably will be able to get 
reduced room rates at the Hilton which is on the Gulf side of Longboat.
