Well, now that I've discovered its name (gunnel), I've had some success
in Googling possible replacement options. So far, I'm leaning towards
a polypropelene (or similar) piece that will just install right over
the top of it, hiding it completely.
So far, that's ahead of the bondo idea--thanks, though, every idea is
worth considering IMO.
