I use two 100 ft extension cords when working in the yard. Cold heat works,
but only in limited applications. You can't use it on sensitive
electronics, and you can't use it continuously to heat large pieces of
metal...

Wow, that's pretty neat. What do you all think of the cold heat
soldering irons? Do they actually work? Oh, why not get an extension
cord? It'd have to be a couple hundred feet.

Go to radio shack, they have an awesome butane one for about $25. It's
great because it heats up faster, and won't drain your battery, which
you
can (should) disconnect when working on electrical. Also, the butane
one
has another nozzle to use as a micro torch, which is hot enough to melt
pennies. (great for quick plumbing/radiator work).
Otherwise, why not get and extension cable ($8 at homedepot)
