there.
I run my email through hotmail, to outlook, so I can't use autosort. A real
pain.

Thoughtful response Rich. I don't think there's a need to apologize. As long
as your topic relates to the subject matter of this forum, feel free to pose
your questions. Not everything I read here is of interest to me but who,
among us, is to judge when a topic should be shut down. Unless, of course,
the poster is "he who shall remain nameless" whom Satish thankfully banned.

Well, I'd have replied straight to Gary but it seems like my mail server
won't give me the original e-mail address any more.
Anyways, my apologies, it's a tendency of mine to over discuss things.
I'd drop in to best buy and have them install it if had the cash to
spare (not to mention I'd have to trust those guys further than I can
throw them first), but I don't. I didn't think it'd be a big deal, but
I'm starting to notice a pattern of every time I have a question, it
evolves into 60 questions and somebody gets fed up.
Again, 1000 apologies. I'll continue to try and work on this, and in the
mean time I'd take no offense at being block listed.
For those who rather put up with me rather than block list me, in the
mean time you could save yourself some headache by making a separate
folder that all mbcoupes mail automatically goes into.
Once again, apologies,
Richard

Guys
There's a ton of other things of interest on this forum, just drop in to
Best Buy get the dam radio installed and get on with life. Deleteing 25
garbage e-mails on this subject every time I check my mail is really
boring.
I'm sure other members feel the same way. Sorry I just had to voice my
personal opinion.

Many years spent nothing in repairs, but over the last three years I've
been spending about $1000/year in addition to gas (itself about $900),
oil ($60), and filters (anywhere from $15 for 3 oil filters and up for
when things like air filters are due), but I don't think there are very
many $1000 repairs left. Part of the thing adding to these costs is that
when the fuel distributor went, my parents wouldn't let me fix it
myself, turning what should have been a $400 fix into an $800 fix (well,
should have been $700 but they found something else wrong while they had
it so I just let them do it), and same goes for the water pump. Until
about 4 years ago though, the total maintenance costs of all time for my
380 were somewhere in the area of $7000, not including gas or oil, but
including filters (and the fact that 90% of maintenance was being done
by the dealership).

Jonathan said: "I didn't think Eddie's costs seemed out of line."
I simply could not afford this car if it cost that much to maintain it.
Jim K said: "I have always been amazed on how inexpensive the SEC is to
run.
Of course, I do 90% of my own work.
I buy a lot of parts from Rusty, etc., w/ a few from the local dealer,
whose
parts dept. is great.
Most parts are crazy cheap for the quality they are. The thing about an
SEC
is it is so repairable. The bolts all work!
Mark Reimers said: "I averaged about $1,200 per year in maintenance and
repair/upgrades."
I think these later comments are more inline with what one should
expect.
Drive the car 12 to 15K a year and stay on top of the maintenance for
all
systems spending 1 to 1.5K per year. This is for a car being used by an
owner who does his own work and shops around for the parts.
Thanks to all,
Chris
