You can run the wires under the door sill but, there is an easy access
factory raceway under the front carpets.  Lift the cover and run your wire
through this tray.  It does require fishing/snaking of the wire under the
seat to the rear carpet.  If you lift the rear seat out you will see an
opening where the wire should run to avoid being compressed by the rear seat
when you lock it back in place.

In any event, I've always done it the way the factory would have.  It's easy
enough to follow the sill and then loop it over the console side carpet and
up and in.  If you do chose to use the tray, simply feed the wire out at the
head of the footwall and then over behind the receiver.
