[W126 Coupe] speakers

If I go 3.5 in the front all I have to do is pop in the Crutchfield adapter plate and I don't have to modify the hole for the alpine sps-080a in the front. The back there isn't enough depth for a 3.5", so that's where I figure I may as well go 4x6 since it's the easiest modification. So you think the kenwoods will sound too bright? I was trying to avoid that thinking that since these go down to 40Hz they'd take care of the low end. I'd go for the kappa 462.5 but they only go down to 75hz. There's the pioneer ts-a4667's but I think they may be thicker than the 2 inches I have if I want to keep the stock grills, but thoughts on those are still welcome since I have yet to verify that they are thicker than 2 inches. There's also the alpine sps-460a. Though maybe the kenwoods sounding bright is a good thing. I'm not exactly listening to rap, just classic rock, oldies, classical, and talk.
Richard

Sorry, kenwoods always sound too bright to me.. You're going to have
to modify the hole anyway you go so might as well go 4X6, although I
don't think the imaging is quite as good.

I think I'll just take the easy way out in the front with Alpine SPS-080A's using the crutchfield adapter bracket, but since in the back I'd have to do some modifying anyways I might as well go for 4x6's, the trick is will it fit without SERIOUS mods? I guess I'll find out for myself. As long as I have 1.8 inches of depth (I don't have the sloped panel of the later model W126, just a flat panel covered by inch thick insulation, and the x468's have an overall depth of 1.794 inches ), 4 inches of width, and 6inches of length, I suppose I could make them fit.

From looking at the front speakers I know why: while 4x6 would fit the stock speakers are 3.5. Also, from looking at the front speakers I can't figure how to get them out. I see the two screws closest to the body of the car, and I took those out. Something at the front is holding it in but I see no screws. Any ideas?
