[W126 Coupe] speakers

AFAIK the rear speakers changed in 86. I should have noted that.

Richard,

The original speakers in the rear of my 1990 SEC are quite odd.

They consist of a woofer/midrange element which is 16cm (about 6.5") across.
It is mounted on a custom bracket which tilts the speaker forward and to
toward the center of the car.
On the back of the mounting brackets there are two tweeter elements
attached. They face the rear window (upwards) and are slightly tilted in
opposite directions (left/right).

The problem with the SEC is that there is not much room underneath the
shelf, so the speaker choice is a bit limited as you can't fit very deep
speakers with large magnets without major modifications.
