Alex,
I just went through this. My engine issue was not head gaskets, however.
The reason was really never identified but I didn't see the point in
rebuilding an engine with 200k (also) miles on it. In my case, I may never
have found the reason my engine failed.
Go to: https://www.woodfins.com/index.ASP.
Talk to Robert Davis. He gave me some history on the replacement engine
including mileage. Low mileage 5.6 engines are hard to come across. It is
important to make sure they know what you want. They will sell you a "long
block" unless you specify otherwise.
I got my car back in January and so far so good. It runs better than my
original motor.
Total was $3300.
One source for rebuilt engines is:

As the engine has already 200K miles on it, should I be looking for a
replacement engine instead? My mechanic called around and found one in
California with 111K on it. Installed (with new timing chain) it will run
me
$4,400.
What is the better option? 200K engine with a head job or take the chance
on
a 111K replacement engine?
Your inputs would be appreciated.
