The 5 buttons are (left to right)

Defrost, defog (a/c air for uppers and lowers, hence both arrows are filled in), a/c, vent (air but no air conditioner) and heater, off

The 3 arrows in a circle IIRC are air recirculation (didn’t have them in 85 so I don’t know, but I believe that’s what they mean)

The middle one switches between the city and country horn (aka current and old annoying horn)

The doors don’t auto lock except I believe Bergwerks sells a kit that will let you do this. To lock from the inside push down on the lock.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] question about console buttons

i purchesded my sec about 5 months ago and in our recent move i've misplaced my sec book. so i need some help with the console buttons.

88 sec

the 5 buttons that are in a line...i know the ones on each end, one is the defrost and the other is the off and the middle one is the one i use for my heater and a/c. what are the other two for?

also on the upper left there are two buttons...the one with the 3 arrows in a circle what's that for?

also below the ashtray there are 3 buttons. the outside ones are the seat heaters, what's the one in the middle? looks like a horn.

also aren't the doors suppose to lock automatically when you put the car in gear? how do you lock the doors from the inside.

that's all for now. i'm sure i'll find my book...somewhere in all those boxes. thanks
