Hi Habib:

The answer is yes and no.  If you run with EC selected for winter heat the compressor will never cycle on.  If however, you run in either of the two 'arrow modes' it is possible that the compressor will cycle on from time to time to aid in the management of the cabin climate control temp setting.  It does not hurt to cycle it during the winter just east up more fuel.
