[W126 Coupe] White gauge face

David,

The same thing happened to me when I installed the white-face dials on my
1990 SEC.

I ended up having to bend the needle upwards so that I could re-insert it
below the peg, and then bend the needle back down after it is properly
inserted.

I puzzeled over this problem for quite a while and played around with the
needle. I figured that the needle should point at 3 at the max position
because there is no peg stopping it from overextending. For that to be the
case, zero is below the peg and the needle will rest on the peg with a
little bit of pressure when the ignition is off.

Careful not to break the needle off its sleeve. I did that with the fuel
guage needle. I tried to solder it back on, but it did not last long. Now I
have no fuel guage.

Regards,
Axel J. Wulff
