[W126 Coupe] Need help with wheel offset

A quick update. Mike Ramay and Talbir had both suggested that the wheels should bolt on directly without the need for spacers. I went to Bill P's brother shop today where the wheels are to be made new again and tried them on for size. They fit just perfectly in the front and the rear, even with the lowering done to Carl and Steve's spec's while they had BergWerks open.

The only place where a severe bump might cause a rub is the rear tire inside front just under the rear seat area. But, as she stands with someone pushing hard on the bumper this clearance remains good.

I am thinking I could move the rears out 3-5mm if needed but, I am going to bolt them on just the way they are and take a spin once the wheels are finished.

Wheel refinishing requires they separate the two pieces and cnc the inner area while polishing the outer lip. Apparently, a shop in NJ does this finer bit of work with special machine. The black lacquer Lorrinser center cap is polished with 2200-2400 grit wet paper to bring it back to new condition.

That's the update. Can not wait until the wheels are done. Should be rolling when I return July 9 or so.

Take care and thanks for the good detail on how to get the ride fixed up once again.

Dick
