[W126 Coupe] central locking question

Okay, easy, eh?!!! Guess I need Electrics 101 here. I opened up the trunk and removed the cover for the pump and took it out. Disconnected the 3-prong connector, and left the other connector attached (2 prong, whatever that is), and vacuum line obviously. Now when you said connect to ground I thought you meant pick a ground point, so there happened to be a big huge bolt right behind where the pump sits, so I touched one end of the wire to that, the other end to any of the 3 prongs (doors and trunk open) and nothing. Am I doing something wrong, is that not the way to touch to ground, and if not, please enlighten me, as I'm feeling pretty dopey right about now. connector (which has the blue/yellow/green wires). Connect a wire to ground at one end and then (with the doors open and keys in your pocket) touch the wire on one of the 3 terminals on the pump. No matter which terminal you touch, doors should lock (since a 3 second ground signal locks doors). Test each of the 3 terminals on the pump turn-by-turn...if doors lock from all three terminals on the pump, then pump is fine - then you know it's the alarm unit/connections from it that are the culprit.talbir>From: "Markus Meyer" >Reply-To: mfmeyer at iwon.com,Mercedes Coupes Mailing Lists >>To: mbcoupes at mbcoupes.com>Subject: RE: [W126 Coupe] central locking question>Date: Mon, 6 Jun 2005 16:07:23 -0400 (EDT)>> Thanks for all the replies so far...
