[W126 Coupe] 1985 500SEC stalling under load

Symptoms of plugged cat. Won't rev up, engine overheats, no power at rpm above 3000. low rpm usually ok

  I've heard of clogged catalytic converters causing some cars to stumble when the go pedal is pushed to quickly but allowing slow acceleration.
