It's very likely the high pressure hose and it goes from the rearward
connection on the power steering (PS) pump over the EGR valve to the
steering gear box on the frame. Take it off, cut the connection
(compression) fitting off the end of the hose and take one of the fittings
to the local hydraulic hose shop. Buy about five feet of hose and replace
both hoses on the PS pump. I used a high quality stainless steel hose clamp
(marine?) and have had no problems for several years now. It should cost
under $25 for the hose and clamps. Absolutely nothing that you'll need from
the local stealership.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Power steering hose
Looks like I finally located the cause of all the underhood smoking. It
seems one of the power steering hoses has developed a leak. I am not sure if
it is the low or high pressure side. Is there any way to tell the difference
so I can get a replacement ordered?
Where would I purchase the power steering hose?
Thanks,
Eric
