It is registered as 68 but I found out during my restoration, it is a 69. I now have to change the plate. It is a 280SE coupe with column shift auto. It is pretty slow but nice to cruise in it. The air blows cold and everything works, not perfect but all works.
My goal was to make it a true #2 car so taht I can drive the car and enjoy it. It has new paint on OEM body, no rust, all new leather but OEM dash leather, headliner dyed, new carpet, metal trims including hubcabs, bumpers, most gaskets and seals are new, lower trims all refinished and mechanically checked for old stuff and replaced with new. The engine bay is not as clean as the exterior but again, my goal was to make it a driver/show car. The paint/body work alone was the most expensive part of the resto. The vehicle was hit once because we found some bondo which we removed and fixed to OEM spec. The color scheme is the original scheme.

It runs and stops very well. I just took it for a 100 miles Sunday drive and it is a charmer. I got many thumbs up on the freeway.

This one is a keeper.
