[W126 Coupe] Firing Order

Sorry that was a mistype. No. 5 was at 70lbs. We did
test it several times to check. There are just over
200K on the engine, original engine, no work, second
tranny. The car used to run like a champ. It was in
an accident a couple years ago, it was hit on the
front left quarter panel on the side. I am not sure
if the timing chain has ever jumped or not.

David;
You have one decent cylinder, No.7.
As you know, 110 is low but could be acceptable if all
cylinders were within 10%. No.5 at 7 lb is almost too
low to measure. I'm sure you would have tested it a
few times to make sure it really is that low.
How many miles on the engine? Do you know if the
timing chain has ever jumped and the left bank was
cobbled together with used parts to get the engine
running again? Is that possible? Has the engine ever
run right while you have had it? Something
catastrophic has happened.
If you want to test anything further you can inject a
bit of heavy oil into the cylinders and check the
compression again. (anything will do, 10/40, 20/50, or
even 90 gear) If the compression goes up, you know
the rings are bad. If the compression stays the same,
the valves are more suspect.
I suggest the bottom line is IF a piston is the
problem, I'd say the car is for parts, unless you can
find a good used engine and switch. If it's valves,
then it's your call depending on the condition of the
rest of the car.
