[W126 Coupe] Firing Order

Here is the latest on the ailing 500 SEL. After
reviewing the firing order and looking at a couple
other things, we pulled all the plugs and tested the
compression in all cylinders.

Cylinders 1-4,6, and 8 all were about 110. Cylinder 5
was at 7! And cylinder 7 was at 160! So it looks like
there isn't much I can do to make the car run right.
Not really enough of a car to justify a complete motor
rebuild. So I guess we run it out.

Unless some engine genius is out there to suggest
something.

David;

I assume you already have the answer to your question.
To recap, the firing order is 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2 and the
cylinders are numbered from the right bank front
cylinder..... RH (passenger side in USA) 1-2-3-4, LH
(driver's side in USA) 5-6-7-8.

Americans mostly drive on the right side of the road,
whereas the British always drive on the wrong side,
the Japanese drive on both sides, the Australians
drive upside down.

I believe that Chevrolet numbers the cylinders on
their V8's 1-3-5-7, 2-4-6-8

I have just been GIVEN a Chevrolet 3/4 ton pickup
truck. Free. I'm not sure if this is a good deal or
not.
