the shortcut - take it to someone and let them do it! The nearby
stealership in SF charged me $80 the last time but a shop in Georgia was
$50. Much less hassle to let them use their expensive tool and press to put
them back in. Call first to see if they'll work on your parts, a couple of
places didn't want to just press them in because they wanted the whole job.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Lower Ball Joint Install

Hey gang,
I'm trying to get the lower ball joints pressed back into the front
spindles of my SEC.
Getting them out wasn't too much sweat, but trying to get a tool that fits
to get them back in is another story!
Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to do this?
It looks like I will probably have to go to the dealer or MB shop to get
them pressed in, but I was wondering if anyone else has done it without
going that route or the $300 MB tool.
Thanks!
Elm.
