Hi Axel
I myself, an east coaster, has made the treck to Satish'a place. Impressive
I thought. I had a bunch of suspension work done plus and was rather
pleased. Of course the drive to drop off the car is a real Bitch! Even worst
is getting a friend to pick you up.

You know though Satish is not the only competent person in that shop.l

I am having an M119 engine installed in my 1990 SEC right now.

In fact, I'm going to pick it at the end of next week.

The work is performed by Satish Tummala at his MotorWerks shop outside of
Detroit. Mine is his third M119 coversion of a W126 Coupe. The first was his
own car and you can read about it on MBcoupes.com.

The engine and transmission he is installing in my car are the components he
removed from his car to make room for a 12-cylinder engine from a '93 S600.
So that is another option.

Another project he is working on is an M119 engine in a W124 coupe. Also
very interesting.

My engine conversion is going to be in the $12k range.

One of the key issues is of course dependability and maintenance. Because I
live near Philadelphia, I can't rely on Satish and his crew to service my
car. Which is why Satish goes to great length to ensure that original MB
parts are used wherever possible.

How successful my local mechanic and MB dealership will be in helping me
maintain this vehicle, only time will tell, but more standardized parts and
less custom work helps reduce the complexity. The installation is harder to
do that way because, but the result is easier to work on.
