[W126 Coupe] Front Sub Frame Bushing Dilemma

HELP!
I am rebuilding the front suspension on my 86' SEC
before the Longboat trip and I ran into a minor snag.
I replaced the large round bushings that hold the
aluminum 'strut bearing' bracket to the sub frame.
In my 126 chassis manual, it says to torque the bolts
for this aluminum assembly to 80 Nm to the sub frame.
In my attempt to do so, I heard loud cracking as I
torqued the bolts only to find that the aluminum cups
inside the new bushings had cracked in several places!
I never even reached 80 Nm before they cracked.

My questions are:
Is 80 Nm correct for the bolts that hold this assembly
to the sub frame?
If so, do I have sub-standard grade bushings?
(I bought these years ago off of eBay I believe, so
their origin is questionable).

Also, YES, I verified the I was torquing to 80 Nm and
not 80 ft/lbs.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks!
