[W126 Coupe] Vacuum problem?

I tried the coil from the 91 (a little different, but
got it to work) and it still didn't fire. I have a
feeling it is the ignition module. I am going to take
my 85 500SEC up to the shop tomorrow, take the module
off of that and put it in the SEL. If it fires, that
is the problem. We shall see from there. After all
this work, I have a feeling it is going to run much
better though!

David;

A quick way to see if you have any spark, and seeing
as you obviously already have the air cleaner off, is
to sqirt starting fluid or a couple tablespoon of gas
through the air intake and see if it fires up (for a
second or two)

You're likely right about the coil. The symptoms are
closer, they can act up first and then fail.

The other option is the ignition module but they
usually die instantly with no warning.

A new coil is by far the cheapest part, abt $75. The
ign module is more like $500. The one in an '89SEC is
over $1,500. ouch!
