How about upper ball joints? My understanding is that when those fail
the wheel flys off. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Richard

Just like any MB Dealer they charge as if all owners are stinkin rich.=20
Most ot that work can be done at any good garage.

A wee bit of advice:

I try to use original MB parts as much as possible.. seem to fit
exacltly
every time and seem to have better longevity over aftermarket parts

LOWER BALL JOINTS - don't put off this repair very long. If you start
to
hear a crunching or moaning from the front end while stopped or going
slow
and turning the steering wheel you are living on a prayer. MB lower
ball
joints don't normally fail at speed. They tend to fail while stopped or
going real slow (parking in or out) and when they fail the whole
suspension
on that side just drops causing the tire to get shoved up into the
fender.
The cars I've worked on had sheet metal damage to the fender and 4 out
of 5 needed other parts replaced due to the failure. =20
ie.. if your lower ball joints are bad - replace them, don't put it
off!!!!!!
