Is 5% all you gain? Don't they say that to feel it in your pants it has to be at least 9%? On a US 380 that'd be less than 8hp, hardly worth the extra pollution.

Your insurance policy will also be INVALID if you have removed the cats and
NOT informed the insurer.
Any modification to the car MUST be informed to the insurer - otherwise in
the event of a claim, if the loss adjuster finds a modification not
communicated during the policy prior to the incident, the policy cover can
be cancelled with immediate effect.
Given that removal of the cats can give a 5%+ gain in performance, I'd
suggest that this is a significant enough perofrmance gain to be making the
insurer aware off....
