This swap can and has been done.  You have to take the 3.06 internals, do some deft machine-shop work to them to accommodate the ABS, and then transplant them into a 560 pumpkin.  Gary Dempsey (Chinook) and I are doing this right now.  Unfortunately with the 1986 and later cars, it isn't a bolt-in as it is with the earlier 380s and 500s.

The other challenge is speedometer calibration to make up for the increased RPMs at speed.  I will be taking the car to the drag strip in the opening weeks to determine the performance increase.  As a benchmark, my stock US-spec 560SEC obtained times of 15.1-15.2 on stock, street tires.  I will do runs with and without my drag radials after we get the swap completed.
