Speaking of Gtech pro, I know a bunch of you had the old ones back when
they were new (i.e. not the competition, the ss, or the rr, just the
regular pro). Would you say the old ones are accurate and tell you
everything you'd care to know? I'm curious because at the old price of
$140 I'd never buy one, but nowadays they're $30 new in box on ebay.

I put a set of ATE slotted rotors with semi-metallic pads on the front
of my '87 560SEC and left the back stock. Several runs with a G-Tech Pro
showed a 0-60 of right around 7.0 seconds (correct value for bone stock
SEC), but it also showed 60-0 of around 140 feet.

Yes, I have been wondering the same thing...I think the brakes are
HORRID!, but I have a 1990 560?

Something I don't get is everybody say how good the brakes in
these cars are. Did they change them in 86 or something? Cause the
pre-86 ones do 60-0 in 160 feet. Not exactly blistering by todays
standards. Though I do believe an old car and driver review of the
560SEL said it "stops like the dickens."
