Even more frequently, they just time the distance once, and the cop checks
how fast it takes you to get from point A to point B, watching from the side
of the freeway. Highway patrol seems to use this technique a lot, since you
are less likely to go to court somewhere far away and fight the ticket. The
ticket they write you is simply that you are driving faster than it is safe,
easy to fight, but they don't have to put down exact speed you were going.

Yes, they still use VASCAR to clock you in Florida. I
