[W126 Coupe] laser jammers

I'm not Jim, and I have no first hand knowledge, but as $400 is a big
expense for me, I've been doing a lot of reading. The only one to pick
the S2 and the 8500 X50 over Valentine was autoweek (well, there is an
online thing too, but if you read their review you can see how stacked
they were again V1 since the review lies a lot...there is or at least
was a warning on the V1 website about him saying that he applied for a
job at v1 5 times now, never got one, and apparently hates V1 now).

Something they said that I think is a huge turn off, even if you get
past the lack of arrows, is that they had to replace the batteries in
the S2 every 3-4 weeks. If I'm going to get corded, I'll get a V1, which
their only complaint about was false alarms. Car and Driver's test had
the V1 detection capabilities so far ahead of the 8500 that it looked
kinda ridiculous. Oh, and don't bother buying a V1 on ebay. Even the
ones that say they are the latest version 1.8 don't have POP2, and you
only save like $20 on ebay anyways.

Jim,
Just curious. I was wondering if you've had any first hand experience
with the Passport 8500 or Solo 2. If so, what did you find lacking as
compared to the V1?

Richard,

I like the V1. It's by far the best detector I've
owned. Spend the money because it's worth the price.

Yes, laser jammers are very effective.
