[W126 Coupe] I'll be needing a new hood...

Sounds like it missed the spot of impact for the bags to deploy!  I've seen
newer cars hit dead center and not deploy and then I've seen them hit
potholes and deploy!  Kind of funny but not really from the drivers view!

Just above; his bumper slid atop mine and destroyed my grill and hood.
My bumper met the skid plate protecting his gas tank, but only with
enough force to exchange dirt.
