Yeah, it looks worse when you hit an SUV because this crumple more, but
think about it this way: the much more expensive and harder to properly
repair bumper mount went undamaged. A good place for parts is PG Auto. Also,
if you're in the Charlotte NC area I know a place you can drive to, but no
point in looking for parts yourself, body shops have their own junkyards
they deal with and get special rates. The nice thing if you do go with
insurance is that since there are no aftermarket made in china parts for
these cars, you're going to get genuine MB parts instead of having chinese
parts pushed on you by the insurance company.

grill, and other misc under the hood stuff.  Just rear-ended a guy at
an intersection.  No injuries, and very little damage to his Cherokee,
which I must've slid under a bit.  Crumple zone sure did.

I'm wondering whether to just let insurance handle it or try to write a
check to avoid the ding against the insurance.  Rates are sneaking up
on me.

What wisdom does the list have with respect to where to start looking
for cheap replacement parts.
