[W126 Coupe] Thermostat R&R for 85 500 SEC

I need to replace the thermostat in my 85.  The engine
does not ever reach any sort of operating temp, I
believe the thermostat is stuck open.  

Is there anything I need to watch out for?  Any good
tricks?  Anything to avoid?
