[W126 Coupe] Head Gasket Question

My SEC has a very, very small oil leak at #8 cylinder
(I believe MB numbers cylinders on the passenger side
with even numbers)suggesting that the head gasket
needs to be replaced.  

I have had 2 shops (with lots of MB experience) tell
me this is a common problem with SEC's - and that
changing the gasket will not correct the problem.  

Have any of you had this problem?  Did you change the
head gasket, and did it stop the oil leak?
