[W126 Coupe] Timing Chain Replacement

My local shop is strongly recommending that the lower
guides be changed along with the uppers, chain
tensioner, and timing chain.
Is it "really" necessary\a good idea to change the
lowers? Or is my shop recommending the lowers be
changed because their service manual says so?
I have not had any problems with the timing chain, but
am proceeding on the advice that the chain should be
changed as a precautionary measure due to mileage.
Thanks for the input. Mark
