"But what shall I use for my Mercedes 300 SD diesel"

Mobil 1 make a synthetic diesel oil called Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40 and then
there is shell rotella synthetic.

In my diesel excursion I run the standard diesel rotella oil in it 15w-40.
But I do use the Mobil 1 Filter which is a screw on. They don't make a
canister filter like MB uses. The only place I found that sells synthetic
diesel oil is wal-mart and it the rotella brand. If your looking for M1
you'll have to order it on the net. And its expensive either one! Plus I
don't like the fact that they synthetic is rated at 5W. Truck or car diesel
need 15W.
Personally I tried M1 standard diesel oil, delvac 1300 and did not care for
it. I went back to rotella truck runs better with rotella. I cant justify
the synthetic oil price for diesel oil when Ill get 500,000 miles on the
motor anyway ! Just my 2 cents :) Plus the big rigs all use rotella.
