And for 380 owners...none of this applies to you since we already have
FGS and it doesn't get locked out at any speed lower than what it takes
to redline (all the gears are like that though).

It is my understanding that shifting to first is locked out above 8 MPH,
but I've not tried it. Since it is really the same as the kickdown
switch, it should only downshift to a safe gear.
