[W126 Coupe] POWER

For cars with automatic transmissions, they usually shift through the gears "automatically", starting in first, then switching to second, third and so on for as many speeds as your transmission has (3-6). Our cars have 4 speed transmissions, but for CAFE reasons, they were set up to start out in second gear instead of first gear, unless you really mashed the throttle. The euro models had a module to allow the car to start in first gear all the time without mashing the throttle, which gives more "power" off the line, and many of us have put that module/kit in our US models to help with off the line acceleration. Might not be much, but every little bit helps with these cars!
