I purchased a Garmin StreetPilot 3 just over 2 years ago and I think it was 
about $700. Although I have my Axiom set up for a hard wire installation I 
can still take it out and use it in other cars with its built in antenna and 
lighter jack that comes with the package. I would guess you could find a 
used one on eBay reasonable. I have been more than satisfied locally and on 
long distance trips.
