IIRC performanceproducts.com sells the MB oil.

Axel,
Is there an oil suitable to use other than the MB oil from the dealer
when
refilling the suspension system ?
Can Autozone powersteering fluid be used in this system or is MB oil
necessary.
My closest dealer is 200 miles away and expensive.

Tom,

Bad accumulators can result in both a hard ride and a soft and "wobbly"
ride.

With the hydraulic suspension the accumulators are the shock abosorbers.
The
struts are just hydraulic pistons. The accumulators have a membrane
between
the oil from the closed hydraulic system and the nitrogen in the
accumulator. When your car hits a bump the oil moves up the piston and
into
the accumulator, which pushed the oil right back.

If you are low on oil and the membrane is shot, there will be no
pushback
and the ride will feel soft and squishy.
If the accumulators are filled up with oil there is no absorption and
the
ride will be hard.

Because there are two accumulators, suspension problems due to one or
two
malfuntioning units (and they can each fail both ways...), the best
first
step in sorting out suspension problems on a car with your mileage is to
change them both along with the hydraulic oil and filters.

If your car is still riding low after servicing the accumulators, your
springs are probably tired and should be replaced. A perfect excuse to
go
with the H&R lowered springs. :-)

Regards,
Axel J. Wulff
